Break Heart Ranch Horse Rescue
I run a horse rescue. We save starved, abandoned and abused horses. We buy horses from slaughter li
$100.00 would be enough to save the life of a doomed animal and donate it to a therapeutic riding school or a school for special needs children. Therefore, $100.00 would make a difference in two lives. A new life for the horse saved, and an experience of a lifetime, or possibly a life altering change for a child. I have seen the affect and soothing comfort an equine can have on mentally challenged children.
Horses can effect positive changes in childrens lives. I have seen horses stand still, while an epileptic child was in full seizure, calm and reassuring and soothing. I have seen the joy in the eyes of an autistic child at the feel of a soft muzzle. Horses understand special children and adults and take great pains to harbor them. Street hardened children and young adults become soft and caring around these wonderful animals. Children can be themselves and tell their secrets to a horse with no fear of betrayal.
What better way to spend $100.00?

Yes and I feel it is a necessity, as so many wonderful horses go to slaughter each year, not just old or sickly but young (full of life) and healthy. I know Val and the work she does with these animals is amazing. She not only brings life back to these animals she brings life back to the people that are fortunate enough to be around these beautiful creatures. Thankyou Val for giveing both a second chance. Dont we all deserve that? Sincerely Gerri Wolf from Papillion Nebraska
As an advocate for Americas horses, I can not think of a better way to invest a $100.00! A horse touches your soul and heart in many ways, I know this, Because my life has been completed by my own horse. I have had the opportunity to meet John and Val and have personally witnessed the dream that became a reality for a friend who adopted a horse from Break Heart Ranch. I give them 'two" thumbs up! And may God continue to Bless them so they can enrich the lives of many more! Audra Wirth, Springfield Nebraska
Here, here! Val is from the heart on this. If anyone deserves to win, it's Break Heart Ranch Horse Resce and Val. Val is a true friend of horses, and it shows in her article. You can't fake that kind of love!
Val does wonderful work and has wonderful horses. My family and I drove from Gillette wyoming to look at her horses and fell in love with most of them. She was great to work with and had lots of experience with horses. We walked away with one mini and prospects of other. Even with all of their hardships (the ice storm, no eletricity due to weather) Val and her husband have never given up on their cause. out of all the rescue places I looked at hers was the best. God Bless you val. Darcy Hines Gillette Wyo.
Val makes a very good point about how horses have a uncanny sense about people. When you look in their eyes, REALLY LOOK, they seem to go direct to your very soul. Maybe that is why they are such a comfort to those with various types of handicaps. It appears that John & Val are committed to doing their very best to help save these wonderful animals, and it is evident that they would be able to make that $100 stretch to super lengths! My vote goes to them!! God bless them and their challenge!!
Great article Val! You truley are sent from heaven to help these horses the way you do! Each horse that is at the Break Heart Ranch has a story that brings tears to my eyes every time i hear that story or see that horse. Keep up the good work!!
